How These Images Were Made
Every photograph in this portfolio began with a clear question: what does this subject genuinely look like when observed rather than directed?
The images gathered here span seven years of practice in Winnipeg and across Manitoba. They include ceremony coverage lit entirely by available church windows, portrait sessions conducted in the studio's warm amber interior, product campaigns shot against architectural backgrounds in The Exchange District, and corporate events captured from the room's edge so that nobody had to perform for the camera. What connects them is an adherence to the same editing process: shadow detail retained, highlights held, and a consistent amber-gold tone that reflects how Winnipeg light genuinely behaves in the early evening hours. The portfolio is updated seasonally; clients are encouraged to revisit it before briefing a new project.
The commercial shoot for our restaurant interior took three hours and produced images we have used for two years across print menus, the website, and social media. The warm amber tones matched our actual dining room atmosphere perfectly — something other photographers had never managed to capture.
