The Commercial Brief Process

A clear brief produces better images. The studio invests time in the briefing stage so that production runs efficiently.

Commercial assignments begin with a written brief document that the studio prepares in collaboration with the client. The document records the intended use of each image, the visual references the client finds compelling, the technical specifications required by the platforms or publications involved, and any brand guidelines that must be observed. On-location shoots are scouted in advance where the location is new to the studio; tabletop and product work is handled in the McDermot Avenue studio under controlled amber-adjusted continuous lighting. Final delivery includes high-resolution files in the agreed formats, colour-corrected to the studio's amber-gold standard with brand-specific colour grading applied where required.

Our product line had never been photographed properly until we worked with Echopvivid. The amber-warm tabletop images matched our packaging colours and felt premium without looking artificial. We used them across our website relaunch and saw a measurable improvement in online conversion within the first month.

Licensing, Usage, and What the Studio Does Not Provide

Commercial photography involves specific licensing terms. The studio is transparent about these from the first conversation.

All commercial images are licensed for the agreed uses specified in the project contract. Expansion of usage rights — for example, extending from web use to billboard advertising — requires a separate licensing agreement and may involve additional fees. The studio does not offer video production, motion graphics, or retouching services beyond the image editing defined in the project scope. Where a campaign requires models, stylists, or props that the client cannot supply, the studio can recommend Winnipeg-based production contacts but does not manage or invoice for those elements directly. Clients are advised to confirm their usage requirements in full before the briefing stage to avoid amendments after delivery.
